When constructing any building, you want to make sure that your foundation is firm and sound. You take many measurements and use just the right materials so that the building will stand against any storm or unsettling of the earth.

Our lives must also be built on a firm foundation, much like a building. Principles that can withstand the test of time and the storms of life or society.

Jesus concludes the sermon on the mount in Matthew 7:24-25 with this concept.

Matthew 7:24-25 NIV “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. (25) The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

In Building A Firm Foundation we will be discussing the foundational truths for a life in Christ. We will give you tools to build your life on the rock and not on sand.

Part 1: The Bible

Part 2: The Trinity

Today, we will be discussing an important element of a firm foundation for our lives; the relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Now this is a deep subject and it’s one of the many mysteries of the nature of God. Today’s topic of the Trinity is heady and it’s okay to have more questions following this discussion. We will not fully comprehend the mysteries of God until Heaven and this is just one of them.

Part 3: Jesus

Today we are going to be discussing an important element of a firm foundation, we’ll be talking about who Jesus is, and His purpose in our lives. There is a handout available. The link is right below the video. You can download it right now, it has some discussion questions, the scripture references and some other information. The discussion questions are also going to be displayed onscreen at the conclusion of the video.

Part 4: Salvation

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is biblically essential. There are some interesting terminologies in that statement of what we believe. We are going to look at what salvation is and why it is the most important decision a person make in their life. You oftentimes hear it said, “I got saved” and they’ll give a date. Born again and salvation are different terms used for in what this said is regeneration by the Holy Spirit of sinful man. We’re going to dive in and look at that and we’re going to begin by looking at a conversation that Jesus had with a prominent Jewish leader named Nicodemus.

Part 5: The Holy Spirit

Today we will be discussing an important element of a firm foundation we will be talking about the Holy Spirit who he is and his purpose in our lives. And you might want to take a moment and download the handout that is available with discussion questions, scripture references and other information. The link is right below the video. The discussion questions will also be available at the conclusion of our video, so when we finish up you can pause the video and there will be a list of questions that you can go through as well. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling and empowerment the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life and through whom the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operational in the church today.
